So you've made the decision to quit your job to care for a child under 14. Keep in mind that, according to the current legislation, there are some peculiarities of paperwork in case of dismissal for this good reason.
Write a letter of resignation of your own free will. Be sure to indicate the reason for dismissal - "in connection with the need to take care of a child under the age of 14". You must write the application at least two weeks before the day of dismissal (article 80 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). Sign the document with your immediate supervisor.
Agree with the management on the day of your dismissal. If you have a difficult situation with a child in your family at the moment, then, by the decision of the manager, the settlement with you will be issued on the day you need. But if the application contains a management visa for dismissal with working hours, you cannot not go to work the next day after submitting it. In this case, the employer may fire you for absenteeism under the relevant article, since a reference to a good reason in your application does not give you the right to be fired any day you wish.
Resolve issues related to the transfer of cases and registration of your dismissal. On the last day of work, you will be familiarized with the order of dismissal, you will be given a work book and the necessary certificates, and a cash settlement will be made. Make sure that the reason for your dismissal is indicated in the work book and the order for dismissal by the employee of the personnel department - "in connection with the need to take care of a child under the age of 14 years." This wording affects the timing and amount of payment of unemployment benefits in case of contacting the Employment Service.
