A brochure, or a bookbinding machine, is needed so that the created printed document becomes not only presentable, but also convenient for handling, because the sheets bound into a brochure do not fall apart. Often, these machines are used by office workers to keep their reports, presentations and other documents neat and tidy.
Varieties of brochures
The bookbinding machine will allow you to punch holes in various shapes from a circle to a rectangle at the edges of paper sheets. This sheet block is then slid onto the spring. There are several types of brochures:
- working with plastic springs;
- working with metal springs;
- thermal brochures;
- combined or universal brochures.
Manual for the manual brochure
Place the machine on a table or cabinet. Prepare documents or a block of sheets to be stapled with springs. Don't forget to prepare the covers that will serve as the cover for your brochure, which can be cardboard or clear plastic covers. Remember that once the spring has been installed, it will no longer be possible to add sheets to the document.
First, holes are made in the document itself, i.e. sheets are perforated. After that, similar actions are performed with transparent or cardboard sheets (covers). If the document has more than 25 sheets (with a paper thickness of no more than 125 grams per cubic meter), it is recommended to divide it into several parts and perforate each part separately, while strictly observing the perforation overlap boundaries.
For binding, you will need to take a plastic or metal spring, depending on which binder you have. If your brochure uses a metal spring that is much stronger than a plastic spring, remember that you will not be able to remove the sheets that are held together from the brochure. But when a binder with a plastic spring is used, then after binding, it will be possible, if necessary, to add sheets by opening the spring, however, its appearance significantly deteriorates.
The size of the spring is selected based on the number of sheets, after which it is put on the comb of the brochure and opened (unclenched). Then sheets of the document are inserted into each clove: first the cover, then the document itself, then the second cover and the springs are closed. Thus, at the end you get a beautiful and presentable document that you will not be ashamed to hand over to your boss or your business partners. In addition, bookbinding machines are very often used by students to complete their graduation projects or term papers.
