There are situations in which parents cannot give their child a full-fledged upbringing and pay due attention. In this case, the grandmother or grandfather can arrange custody of their granddaughter. However, the process of assigning this status to relatives is associated with a scrupulous collection of documents in various instances.
Instructions
Step 1
Make copies of the following documents: retirement certificate, child's birth certificate, your passport and documents on the ward's real estate (if any).
Step 2
Write your autobiography and ask the neighbors to draw up your testimonial, which must be signed by at least three people or a local police officer. Make an extract from the house book or collect documents confirming your legal ownership of the living space. Go to the local ATC and get a police clearance certificate.
Step 3
Contact your local guardianship and welfare office and get a medical examination form. Go through a medical commission, according to the results of which the therapist will make a conclusion about your health condition and the absence of dangerous diseases. Not only you will have to pass the examination, but also the child, as well as all family members living with you. Write an application to the guardianship authorities so that the workers conduct a survey of your living space and make a conclusion about the suitability of the home for finding (living) a child in it.
Step 4
Prepare the documents that will serve as the basis for the appointment of you as a guardian. This can be a court decision on deprivation of parental rights, a certificate of a dangerous illness of the mother or father, a certificate from the police about the absence of legal representatives next to the child.
Step 5
You can arrange custody of your granddaughter even if the parents work on a rotational basis and cannot be involved in raising the child all the time. In such a situation, a document on deprivation of parental rights is not required, but the mother and father need to write consent to grant you the rights to the child.
Step 6
Take your granddaughter's testimonial from school or kindergarten and a certificate stating that she is studying there. If the granddaughter is 10 years old, she must write a formal consent that you will be appointed her guardian and will receive the right to educate, educate and support her. The same statement should be written to all members of your family.
Step 7
Go to the department of the guardianship and guardianship authorities with all the collected documents. Write an application to be considered a candidate for guardian. A decision on this issue must be made within 20 days.
