Hunting is a traditional pastime with a history spanning thousands of years. In Russia, hunting has long been loved by both noble and wealthy people, up to kings and emperors, and the common people, being a significant help for the meager peasant economy.
Currently, hunting does not lose its popularity, playing an important role not only in organizing leisure, but also in protecting nature and rare species of fauna, many of which preserve their numbers and habitat precisely due to the organization of hunting grounds.
Of course, hunting is inextricably linked with the use of firearms, the free sale of which is prohibited in our country. In order to be able to purchase, store and use hunting weapons, you must first obtain a hunting ticket.
A hunting ticket is a document certifying the right to hunt. A hunting ticket is issued to adult citizens of Russia at the place of residence for a period of 5 years, and is subject to annual registration with the authorities that issued it. If there is no registration mark, the hunting ticket is invalid.
To get a hunting ticket you need:
- Purchase and study the Hunting Rules and a book with a hunting minimum (or download it for free from the official website of the Moscow Society of Hunters and Fishermen https://www.mooir.ru/). Read the Law on Weapons, Law on Hunting.
- Write a statement to the society of hunters and fishermen at the place of residence with a request to be admitted to the tests according to the rules of hunting, safety in hunting and the rules for handling hunting weapons.
- Also present a passport, 2 photographs 3x4
- Pay a fee.
- Pass the exam.
Remember that you must obtain a new one no later than 30 days before the expiry date of your hunting ticket. The procedure for obtaining a hunting ticket to replace an expired ticket is no different from the procedure for obtaining a new hunting ticket.
If the hunter's place of residence has changed, he is obliged to deregister with the organization that issued his hunting ticket and register at the new place of residence within two weeks.
A hunting ticket is required to purchase hunting weapons, but do not forget to obtain a license to purchase weapons as well.
