A passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation is the main document of any person holding Russian citizenship. The law stipulates that a civil passport must be replaced at the age of 20 and 45.

Step 1
The exchange of a civil passport can be carried out according to the "plan" at the time of reaching the age of 20 and 45 years. And also “extremely”, for example, if you change your gender, change your date or place of birth, last name, first name or patronymic, if your passport is worn out or damaged, that is, unusable, as well as in case of loss or theft of a document.
Step 2
Passports can be exchanged at any territorial point of the Federal Migration Service of Russia, or at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, if you are a citizen of the Russian Federation and are abroad. Previously, this was only possible at the place of permanent registration.
Step 3
To exchange passports, you must submit an application in the form developed and established by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Samples of this application will be provided to you at the Territorial Office of the FMS, you can also download it from the "Government Services" website and print it out. Be sure to include the passport to be exchanged, two photographs (color or black-and-white) 35x45 mm without a corner. Confirm the reason for changing the passport, for example, with a birth certificate. Be sure to attach a receipt for payment of the state duty for the exchange of a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
If your passport is exchanged due to its loss or theft, contact the police station and write a statement. The search for a document will be announced, and you will be given a temporary ID for a month. At the same time, the lost passport is recognized as invalid, so that a loan is not issued according to your documents. In addition, you will have to pay a fine, the receipt of payment must also be enclosed in the package of documents.
Step 5
The documents must be submitted within 30 days from the moment of the onset of the exchange of the passport. In 10 days you will receive a new document.
