Every citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 20 must necessarily change his passport. To replace a passport, you need to contact the passport office or the passport and visa service at the place of residence or registration with all the necessary documents.

Step 1
The first thing you need is photos, at least 4 pieces. The photo format should be 3, 5 by 4, 5 cm, location only on a white background. Step 2
Payment of state fees. This can be done in any branch of Sberbank; you will only need to have a passport and the required amount - 200 rubles. You don't need to fill out any receipts, but you can find such a receipt on the Internet, print it out and come with it. Otherwise, a bank check is issued in hand, and it must be attached to all documents when submitted to the passport office.
Step 3
Filling out an application. It is issued at the passport office, there is also a sample of filling. Next, you should submit an application, photographs, a receipt and a valid passport to the passport officer. Basically, these are all the documents that will be needed to replace a passport at 20 years old. There are, however, cases when some additional documents will be needed.
Step 4
Military ID or certificate from the military registration and enlistment office. Mandatory for filing all youths liable for military service or exempt from service. If you are submitting a military ID, you must attach a copy to it.
Step 5
For those who already have children at the age of 20, it is necessary to attach to all documents the birth certificates of children and their copies. Then their data will appear in the parent's passport.
Step 6
Be sure to ask in detail where and when you can get a new passport. It usually takes 10 to 30 days to replace a passport, less often up to two months. It all depends on the specific region. In addition, it may turn out that you will not have to get your passport at the passport office, but at the police station. It is better to find out these conditions in advance, as well as the working hours of these institutions and the address of the place of obtaining a new passport.
