Switzerland is one of the most economically developed and livable countries in Europe. But getting the right to live in this country is not easy for a foreigner. If you are a citizen of Russia, then for a long stay in Switzerland you will need to apply for a residence permit, strictly following the procedure established by the Swiss government.
It is necessary
- - passport with a visa;
- - photos;
- - documents confirming the purpose of stay in the country.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide on the purpose of living in Switzerland. It depends on what kind of residence permit you need to obtain. There are eight of them: - type B residence permit is issued to the majority of students and employees with families; - type C is supposed to be living in the country for more than ten years; - Ci is intended for family members, that is, spouses and children of those who came to work in Switzerland; - G is needed for people living in border states (for example, for those Russians who have a residence permit in France); - L is issued to seasonal workers and students for certain types of study programs; - N is issued to refugees. There are others for more specific cases. Some types of residence permits (residence permits), for example, L, cannot be renewed in Switzerland. With such a document, in order to continue living in the camp later, you will need to leave it and once again apply for a visa at home.
Step 2
If you are in Russia, first obtain a visa to enter Switzerland. You must apply for a D visa. This is not a Schengen visa, and you will not have the right to travel to other European countries using it until you receive a residence permit. For a visa, you must apply to the Swiss Embassy in Moscow or the country's consular department in St. Petersburg. You will be required to provide documents on income or the obligation of a citizen or organization in Switzerland to provide for you, as well as documentary evidence of the purposes of stay in the country - an invitation to study, a work contract, documents of kinship if you are traveling to the country with your spouse or parents.
Step 3
When you arrive in your country, contact your cantonal migration agency. Their coordinates will be given to you when you receive a visa, along with instructions on how to act in your situation, when to submit documents and what papers you need to attach.
