Recently, all documents are printed on a computer - it is more convenient. Since the receipt is drawn up in 2 copies, in which blots are unacceptable, the question arises: is a receipt printed on a computer legally valid, or is it still necessary to write it by hand?

Is it possible to print a receipt on a computer

The law does not establish the rules for writing a receipt so that it has legal force. So, even by hand, even printed on a computer, an IOU is a document.

The most correct option would be not to completely print the receipt, affixing only signatures with a pen, but leaving empty fields such as:

  • Surname, name, patronymic of the debtor;
  • Passport data;
  • The amount of debt in figures and words;
  • Date and signature.

The signature on the receipt must exactly copy the signature in the passport. Be sure to check this point.

If the debtor is not going to return the debt, and the fully printed receipt is not certified by a notary, it will be very difficult to prove that the debtor really signed the document. When everything is handwritten, a handwriting examination can be done.

But, again, if you indicate all the nuances in the receipt, the text will turn out to be long. And you need to write it without a single blot, and even in two copies, otherwise the receipt will be considered invalid.

What must be written in the receipt for it to be valid in court

  • Indicate the full surname, name, patronymic of the borrower, let him write them by hand.
  • Also, do not print passport data, let it be written manually by the borrower personally. The lender's passport data can be omitted at all.
  • Be sure to indicate the address where the borrower lives and the address for registration.
  • In the receipt, you need to record the fact of the transfer of money at the very bottom, in front of the signatures. Manually write: you transferred money in such and such a volume (amount in figures and words, currency of calculation), received money in such and such amount.
  • Be sure to indicate the date and place of the conclusion of the contract, as well as the period in which the money must be returned. Indicate how the money will be returned: in full by a certain date, or in parts.

Use a regular ballpoint pen for signing the receipt, which does not smudge or fade over time.

If the amount you want to borrow against receipt exceeds 10 times the minimum wage at the time of the conclusion of the contract, contact a notary for certification. Otherwise, the certification of the receipt is not required, unless one of the parties insists on certification.
