Pension insurance certificate is one of the mandatory documents for any citizen of Russia. Therefore, each person must register with the pension fund of the Russian Federation as an insured person and receive a pension certificate.

Step 1

According to the laws of the Russian Federation, any citizen is obliged to obtain a pension insurance certificate from the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at the place of residence or to entrust the receipt of this certificate to his employer.

An individual (not being an individual entrepreneur) can obtain a pension certificate at the branch of the PF RF at the place of registration (only a personal passport is required). Also, a person can oblige his employer to do this, who, within 14 days from the date of the emergence of contractual relations, provides his personal data to the authorized body of the PF RF, the latter, in turn, after 3 weeks opens a personal account of a citizen and prepares a certificate of pension insurance.

An individual entrepreneur, being an insured person, can receive this certificate when registering himself as a private entrepreneur as an applicant under an insurance contract.

What to do if the certificate is lost or you need to issue a new one? A citizen can issue a new certificate of pension insurance, make a duplicate or make an exchange (for example, change his surname) by writing an application to his employer or directly contact the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at the place of registration. If a person has lost an insurance certificate, then he should issue a duplicate at the office of the PF RF at the place of registration, or contact the employer. In this case, he needs to know the number of the lost document. When changing the personal data of a person specified in the questionnaire (gender, full name, date, month and year of birth, etc.), the employer must prepare the necessary documents for the exchange of insurance certificate. After entering and processing the changed data into the fund's database, it must be issued an insurance certificate with the same number.
