Step 1

The work book is needed, first of all, to confirm and calculate the total work experience for all employers for whom the employee worked, as well as continuous work experience with one particular employer. In turn, the definition of seniority is necessary for the calculation and payment of various benefits, compensations and the provision of various guarantees.

Step 2

Record the following data in the work book: about the employee, about his qualifications and grade, about the work he does, about transfers to another employer to a permanent job, about dismissal, about awards for work. The time of military service, periods of training - also make entries about all this in the employee's work book.

Step 3

With properly organized accounting work, the work book is the main document with which you can confirm the existence of an employment relationship. If you are an employer, be sure to keep records of work books. Instruct an accountant to keep an income and expense book for keeping records of work book forms and an insert in it with an indication of the series and number, and to the personnel officer - a book for registering the movement of work books (acceptance, dismissal, issuance of duplicates, transfers, etc.).

Fill out the work book according to the instructions of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, do not allow abbreviations and corrections. Keep numbering end-to-end in each of the sections of the work book.

Step 4

Hand out the work book to the employee only upon his dismissal, on the day of dismissal with a note on the termination of the employment relationship. Even if an employee asks in writing to issue him a work book for a while, all responsibility for its safety lies with you, and not with him. In such cases, draw up copies of work books in the manner approved by the Resolution of the State Standard of the Russian Federation of 03.03.2003 No. 65-st.
