A certificate of damage is provided to the police when filing an application or during the initiation of a criminal case. This document will be needed if you have suffered material damage, damaged your property, car, etc. The certificate is drawn up in any form. The data it contains depends on the type of damage caused to you.
Instructions
Step 1
If damage has been done to your car, you can contact an independent appraiser to issue a certificate or draw up one yourself. The appraiser will give you an official document detailing the amount of damage, the price of parts for replacement, painting and the cost of restoring the vehicle. If you are compiling a certificate yourself, indicate the following points: the make of the car; place and time of harm (if it is possible to determine); details of the incident, if you witnessed it; shape, size, nature of damage; the condition of the vehicle prior to the damage.
Step 2
In case of damage to property that was in an apartment, store or other closed place, take into account the specifics of the incident. When drawing up a certificate of damage, write the address of an apartment, shop or other property; the circumstances under which the damage was caused (fire, flooding, etc.); the main characteristics of the property before the occurrence of the incident and immediately after it; the value of the damaged property. So, for example, when drawing up a document in the event of a fire, you will need to indicate the value of the property that burned down and that was flooded when it was extinguished.
Step 3
If material damage is caused to a commercial property (store, pavilion, stall, etc.), when drawing up a certificate of damage, write the address of the location of the object, the state of the property before and after the occurrence of damage, the value of the damaged property. If you know the persons who caused the harm, please provide their details.
