In our time, it is not difficult to find the necessary normative act. Any law, from federal to regional, can be found using the Internet. However, not every version of the law found on the Internet may be relevant. Preferred for such purposes are sites of verified, constantly updated legal systems.

- - at least the general meaning of the name of the law, but the more accurate the information, the better.

Step 1
The simplest option seems to be to drive the approximate name of the law into the corresponding line of a particular search engine.
There are a lot of options, but there is no one hundred percent guarantee that the first lines with the results will open the way for you to the current version of the law. Therefore, it is preferable to immediately turn to the services of reference systems sites, the most authoritative of which are Consultant Plus and Garant. By the way, and among the first in the search results when looking for a particular law, they are likely to be present.
Step 2
On the main page of the site of each of the named systems there is a search function. Enter in it at least the approximate name of the regulatory act of interest and feel free to click on the search button.
In response, several options will usually be issued, of which it will not be particularly difficult to choose the one you need. If you find yourself in an outdated version of the law, the system will inform you about it and offer to switch to the current version.
The convenience of working with such systems also lies in the fact that if the text of the law refers to other documents, the text contains a hyperlink to them.
Along with the federal ones, both systems can help in the search for many laws at the regional level.
Step 3
Along with the "Consultant" and "Guarantor", laws can be searched on the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation (it promptly reflects the situation with a change in the status of each document, starting from submission for consideration in the first reading and ending with signing by the President of the Russian Federation), ministries and departments (concerning each of them), regional legislative and executive bodies. Local government structures can be helpful when looking for regional laws and other acts.
All federal regulations that come into force must be published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta and posted on its official website.
