The transition to a new job is an important event. But before you start your new responsibilities, you need to quit your old job. If you decide to leave of your own free will, carry out the dismissal procedure correctly - this will help you avoid unnecessary worries and problems, as well as receive documents and payments on time.
It is necessary
- - labor contract;
- - a statement of resignation.
Instructions
Step 1
Decide which date you want to quit. Count off two weeks from the cherished date - on this day you will need to submit an application. If you are entitled to an annual vacation during this period, you have the right to write an application for vacation with subsequent dismissal.
Step 2
Arrange your papers correctly. Draw up a statement in two copies addressed to the director of your company, where you state your desire to resign of your own free will, and also indicate the required date. Do not forget to include the filing date. Give one copy of the application to the head or secretary, on the other you are required to sign the receipt of the document.
Step 3
If the manager does not want to let you go and does not accept the application, send a copy by certified mail with acknowledgment of receipt. The postal receipt given to you will be proof that the application has been accepted. After two weeks, you may not go to work - the dismissal is considered valid.
Step 4
By law, you are not required to fill out a “slider” or “work-around” and collect signatures from various decision makers. There is no concept of a “work-around” in the Labor Code. Refusal to issue you a work book without filling in the "slider" is a clear violation on the part of the personnel department of the enterprise.
Step 5
Do not forget to make sure that your work book is returned on time and the calculation is made. Documents and money must be issued to the employee on the day of dismissal. If for some reason this is not possible, be sure to discuss the exact date of receipt of the papers. If you work in a branch located in another city, the work book must be sent to you at the expense of the enterprise.
Step 6
Make sure the calculation is correct. You must be refunded for unused vacation time, overtime, and other payments stipulated in your employment contract. Please note that the company is not obliged to pay bonuses and other allowances in excess of the salary.
Step 7
When leaving your workplace, try to maintain good relationships with your former colleagues. Check if your manager can provide you with a recommendation as needed. If you are asked to transfer cases to a new employee, do not refuse. Former leaders and colleagues can be helpful in your future work.
Step 8
Be correct and comply with business ethics. Please note that production databases, company customer data and other classified information are the property of the company in which you worked. Your employment contract probably contains a clause prohibiting the disclosure of such information. Think carefully before breaking it - former employers can hold you accountable for this.
