The question of how to verify the authenticity of a work permit is asked by many employers. The need for such a check arises when a foreign worker comes to find a job with a ready-made work permit. There are several ways to verify the authenticity of this permission.
Instructions
Step 1
The most common way to authenticate a work permit is to check the FMS (Federal Migration Service) website. Go to the FMS website at https://www.fms.gov.ru/ and select the “Document verification” tab in the upper right-hand line. After you go to another page, select the "Check the validity of work permits and patents" tab in the "Information Services" section on the left. In the window that opens, enter the details of the work permit, which you need to check, the code shown in the picture and click "Send request". Checking a work permit on the FMS website has one serious drawback - the data there may not yet be updated, and if the permit has been issued recently, information about it may not yet be available. Therefore, you need to know the main features of the work permit form in order to determine its authenticity by its appearance.
Step 2
On the original work permit, the first two digits of the number indicate the year the document was issued. For example, if a work permit was issued in 2010, then the number must start with the number 10. If the value is different, this is a fake.
Step 3
Another way of checking is to check the permission to work under the illumination of an ultraviolet lamp (on an ultraviolet currency detector). Those who work with cash have such a device. The original work permit has on the front side (where the photograph is) protection in the form of thin oblique light green lines (their thickness is about 0.5 mm), which are visible under an ultraviolet lamp. A fake can also have such stripes, but they are much thicker - from 1 mm and thicker.
Step 4
Another difference between a genuine work permit and a counterfeit one is the clear inscription visible under ultraviolet radiation on the back of the permit. The first line of the inscription reads "FMS", and the second - "Russia". Such an imprint also occurs on fakes, but its edges are blurred and the image is indistinct.
