If the child is not 14 years old, it is possible to register it with the grandmother only together with one of the parents with the consent of the second. This limitation is due to Art. 20 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. Upon reaching this age, he can register on his grandmother's living space without parents.

Instructions

Step 1

If the grandmother's apartment is privatized, it all depends on the number of owners and the type of property. The easiest way is when there is only one owner. It is enough that he signs an application for the provision of living quarters or the moved parent concludes an agreement with him for the free use of the living quarters (the second option is preferable in practice).

The contract is signed by only two parties, the child is indicated among the family members who will live with his father or mother.

The law allows for its simple written form, but in practice it is better to certify this document in the house administration, a department of the Federal Migration Service or a notary.

Step 2

If the apartment has several owners, each of them must give consent to registration. It is also certified by a notary, house management or the Federal Migration Service.

The number registered in the apartment does not matter. Only owners have a casting vote, regardless of whether they are registered at this address or not.

Step 3

When registering in a municipal apartment, the procedure becomes more complicated. You need to prove your relationship (not necessarily close, the law allows the son-in-law to register with the mother-in-law, and the daughter-in-law for the mother-in-law) and provide the consent of all adults registered in the apartment, also certified by a notary, in the house management or FMS division.

Step 4

An application for registration at the place of residence can be taken from the house administration or the FMS department, downloaded from the public services portal or filled out on it online.

In this case, the mother or father fills out an application for himself and the child.

With a complete set of documents, you must contact the house management or the department of the Federal Migration Service.

Step 5

The difference between the registration procedure with the grandmother of a child 14 years old and older is that he must go through it himself: contact the house management or the Federal Migration Service with his passport and fill out and sign the application himself.
