A passport is a necessary document for young people who are going on a trip abroad. The procedure for obtaining it for students is almost the same as for other categories of citizens.

Instructions
Step 1
You can write an application for an old-style passport (for five years) or a new one (for ten years, with a special microchip). Please note that you need to pay a state fee for processing a document (1 thousand rubles for an old-style passport and 3 thousand rubles for a new one). Get the details at the FMS department at your place of residence and pay at Sberbank. Be sure to take the receipt from the cashier.
Step 2
Write an application for a passport. A sample can be found on the FMS website or at the passport office. Carefully fill in all your personal data, including the series and number of your passport, your current registration address. In the paragraph "Work experience" you need to indicate all your places of work over the past 10 years. Students can write only their years of study at school and university until now. Please note that when applying, you may be asked to bring a certificate from your current place of study. Get it from the dean's office of your educational institution.
Step 3
Take four personal photos in size 3, 5x4, 5 (color or black and white). Attach them to your application along with a copy of the main pages of your passport, military ID (for men) and a receipt for payment of state duty. Transfer all documents to the FMS department at your place of residence and wait until they are checked. After about 30 days, you will be invited to receive a finished passport.
Step 4
You can also apply for a passport in electronic form using the website gosuslugi.ru. Register on the website using one of the appropriate methods and select from the list of services to obtain a passport for 5 or 10 years. Fill in your information as described above. Next, you will need to attach a color photo in electronic form in accordance with the specified requirements. After sending the questionnaire, wait for it to be checked at the FMS department, then visit the office at the specified time with a package of necessary documents and complete the procedure for obtaining a passport.
