If you become the owner of an original idea or an interesting invention and wants to register the rights to it, then you need to obtain a patent. This is a document confirming that you are the owner of the intellectual property.

Step 1
Please be patient - the term for obtaining a patent is 1.5-2 years. The right to invention is valid for twenty years. Any kind of persons, individuals and legal entities, can obtain a patent. Filing a patent application is the submission of documents for registering a patent. To begin with, those who wish to obtain a patent for their invention are invited to check the object for uniqueness. If the object is unique, then you can fill out an application. The fate of the grant of a patent depends on the correct filling of the application.
Step 2
Write a request for a patent on the form, or type it on a computer in Russian according to the following plan: - state the fact of creating an industrial design; - describe which branch of technology your invention belongs to; - write what is the essence of your discovery; - describe the drawings, if any; - describe the images in the photographs, if any; - state the results of operation; - explain in detail the places and areas of application; - tell about such devices, if any; - write the formula for the discovery of a useful object.
Step 3
Make an abstract in which you describe your invention in as much detail as possible: the name, where it is used, the essence and result of operation. Add graphics and photographs to your abstract.
Step 4
Pay the state fee. If the application is submitted by the author of the patent himself, then a 50% discount is provided. Write a separate request for a discount.
Step 5
Send an application to Rospatent: application 1 piece, description of the object 3 pieces, formula 3 pieces, abstract 3 pieces, drawings 3 pieces, original payment of the duty and, if necessary, a request for a discount. Send in an A4 envelope. You can draw up a patent application yourself, or you can use the services of a patent auditor.
