Instructions

Step 1

Use only standard fonts 12 or 14 pt. It is advisable to leave an interval of 1, 5 or 2 pt between the lines. Adjust the width alignment - it looks much better than left-sided alignment.

Step 2

Select only the essential information that you intend to include on your resume. The optimal volume of a document is 1 printed sheet, maximum is two. If, in your opinion, important things do not fit, then it is better not to burden the resume with them, but to include them in the cover letter. The fact is that a recruiter, in the absence of enough time to study the text, can simply ignore your resume or put it on the back burner if the volume of the document is too large.

Step 3

Surname, first name, patronymic, highlight in bold, it is allowed to increase the font by 2 pt., But no more. You should not use a colored font, although, in theory, it will draw attention to itself faster. In a resume in a foreign language, the patronymic does not need to be indicated. However, Russian recruiters disagree about the sequence of spelling the full name. Some say that it is necessary to write down the name in full, for example, Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich, while others are inclined to believe that the middle name should be omitted if it is not about a candidate from among scientists, but the name should be put before the surname (Ivan Ivanov).

Step 4

Be sure to include your contact information - phone number and email address. Provide other communication methods only at the request of the employer.

Step 5

Attach a photo - it will allow the recruiter to remember and identify you as a candidate. The image should be small, it is better to place it in the upper left corner of the document and wrap the text around on the right. Choose a good quality photo that shows your face clearly. If there is no suitable photo, do not insert anything. A frame of poor quality or inadequate to the content requirements can ruin your career even at the stage of reviewing your resume.

Step 6

Indicate the position for which you are applying. The purpose of the resume in this case is to get this vacancy.

Step 7

Write your education in chronological order, starting from the last place, in the following format: • full and abbreviated name of the educational institution; • year of admission and graduation; • name of faculty and specialty received; • your achievements (for example, honors degree). courses, trainings and seminars only if the knowledge and experience gained on them will satisfy the job duties and correspond to the purpose of the resume.

Step 8

Enter the work experience in the text in chronological order, start from the current (last) place. Please note: • the name of the organization • the position held • the period of work • a brief description of the responsibilities and achievements • the location of the employer.

Step 9

Inform about the professional skills and abilities that will allow you to do a good job and increase the recruiter's interest in your candidacy. For example, you can mention the existence of the rights of a certain category or knowledge of foreign languages, indicating the level of proficiency in each of them in accordance with the existing terminology. For heaven's sake, don't write something like "English with a dictionary", replace it with "I speak English at Elementary" or indicate the number of points received when passing international exams. Never in this section focus on your plans and intentions. If you do not know the languages, then you should not let the employer know that you are going to learn them.

Step 10

Rewards should only be included if your merits are consistent with future responsibilities. The recruiter is unlikely to be interested in first place in the district school biology competition among the 10th grade, while you are applying for the position of a lawyer. Moreover, if it was 15-20 years ago. And when specifying awards, avoid using abbreviations that complicate the perception of the resume.

Step 11

In the "Personal information" column, employers usually want to see information about the date of birth and marital status of the applicant. However, the provision of this information is not always beneficial to the candidate. Many companies are reluctant to hire married women of childbearing age and women with small children.

Step 12

If you have a hobby related to sports or intellectual activity, mention it, but do not go into details. Otherwise, the recruiter may decide that your hobby will be at the expense of work.

Step 13

End your resume with a list of people who might recommend you. It should be small and include full name and surname. of the referrer, the company he works for, the position held, and contact information. Be sure to make sure that these individuals are ready to provide only positive information about you as a specialist.
