Instructions

Step 1

Prepare your document in Microsoft Word. Choose a font - Times New Roman or Arial, 12 pt. Label the fields. Style your headline by writing the word “Summary” in the center of the page and making it bold. Choose Justify or Align Left from the Paragraph menu. It is best to mark the names of all sections in bold, and leave an empty line between individual paragraphs. The volume of the document is no more than 1, 5-2 pages. To compose a resume, you can use one of the templates provided in Microsoft Publisher.

Step 2

Be sure to indicate in the "Personal data" section. and contact information (phone numbers, email address). If this is important for the employer, you can provide him with information about the date of birth, marital status and the presence of children. So, a number of vacancies imply age restrictions, which can be indicated in the requirements for the applicant. And problems with young children often impede moving or business trips.

Step 3

In the "Purpose" section, indicate the name of the vacancy for which you are applying. If you want your resume to be reviewed for multiple positions, please list them. However, do not list jobs that require different professional skills in the same row.

Step 4

Do not indicate that you have an incomplete college degree. An employer may conclude that you left college without completing your course of study. If you are a student, write that. Give the full name of the institution of higher education, not an abbreviation (except for several well-known universities in the country, such as Moscow State University or HSE), the name of the faculty, specialty or academic degree. Indicate the names of additional courses and the numbers of their certificates of completion.

Step 5

In the Work Experience section, list the organizations you worked for in reverse chronological order. Each position should be framed as follows: - time of work; - name of the organization; - your position; - size of the organization; - your responsibilities and achievements.

Step 6

In the "Professional qualities" section, list your skills and abilities that you have acquired over the years of study and work. Don't forget that they must be relevant to the job. Do not indicate in the Personal Traits section that you have a great sense of humor and do not have bad habits. Use the best formulaic wording. For example: I have an active life position, responsible, good organizer, creative, erudite, easy to train, etc., depending on the vacancy. An employer does not need an easy-to-learn employee applying for the position of deputy general director of a company.

Step 7

Include in the Additional Information section anything that can add value to you as an employee. These are: - knowledge of foreign languages and the degree of proficiency in them; - skills in working with a PC and special programs; - having a driver's license and driving experience; - willingness to move and travel, etc.

Step 8

Try to list in the "Interests" section only those hobbies of yours that can characterize you as someone who is truly suitable for the job. So, if you are fond of extreme sports, do not write about it in your resume for the position of an accountant. Otherwise, it may not please the employer who cares about the stable operation of the organization.

Step 9

Write a cover letter for your resume. Write down why the employer should give preference to you. When sending your resume by e-mail, indicate in the "Subject" field the name of the vacancy for which you are applying. Put the text of your cover letter in the field for the main message. Attach resume and portfolio (if applicable).
