The package of documents required for obtaining a residence permit is quite extensive. To begin with, this is a temporary residence permit, which confirms the legality of your stay in the country. However, it is not necessary for everyone. Citizens of Belarus and Tajikistan, former citizens of the USSR, as well as some highly qualified specialists should not draw up this document, and, therefore, submit it to the Federal Migration Service. It will be enough for them to confirm the legality of crossing the border with the help of the border control stamp in their passport.

You will also need to present the passport of your state with a Russian visa, if its registration was necessary. You will also need four passport-size photographs.

Another important document is the papers confirming the financial position of the applicant for a permanent residence permit. This can be a certificate of income, a copy of a work book, a document from a bank on opening a deposit, as well as a certificate of the salary of a person who supports a newcomer in the absence of his own income.

In addition, you will need a document confirming your place of residence. This could be, for example, a lease or a title deed. In this case, the contract must be certified by a notary.

And finally, a person receiving permanent residence in Russia will need to undergo a medical examination to detect HIV infection and a number of other dangerous infectious diseases and provide a certificate of this to the Federal Migration Service (FMS) when applying for a residence permit.

Based on all these documents, you will need to fill out a social application for permanent residence. The application form can be obtained from the local branch of the FMS or downloaded from the official website of the state structure.
