The privatization of state apartments has been extended until March 1, 2015. All citizens who have not yet managed to transfer housing from the state fund to private ownership can take advantage of the opportunity and carry out the privatization procedure by preparing a number of relevant documents.
Documents required for the privatization of an apartment
To privatize a state apartment and transfer it to private ownership, you will need to prepare a package of documents:
- Social rental agreement. Duplicate it on a photocopier and present three copies of the photocopies and one copy of the original.
- Extract from the house book. This document is drawn up in the housing department and entered into it all family members who have ever been registered in a residential area, drawn up under a social tenancy agreement. Two photocopies and one original are attached to the package of documents on privatization.
- Original and photocopy of an extract from a personal account. You can get this document from the management company, which sends you receipts for paying utility bills.
- Originals and photocopies of passports and birth certificates of all registered citizens. Photocopies must be taken from the first and second pages, as well as from the page with the stamp confirming registration in the living space.
- Photocopies and originals of the explication and floor plan of the apartment. All documents must be certified by the Bureau of Technical Inventory. If more than 5 years have passed since the registration of these documents, you will need to update the information by calling the BTI technical officer. If a redevelopment was carried out and at the same time you do not have the relevant documents, that is, you carried out all the work without permission, you need to legalize the redevelopment and obtain technical information from the BTI.
- A warrant, social employment contract or extract confirming the right to enter into a social employment contract. All documents in originals and attached photocopies in triplicate.
- Application for privatization. You write it when handling all documents in the housing department of the administration of your area.
Privatization procedure
The privatization procedure is quite simple. After preparing all the necessary documents, you contact the housing department of your area. After a certain time, which is no more than 30 days and may vary depending on the region, you will be issued a privatization agreement. You sign it and submit documents for registration of property rights to the state registration service.
Please note that if you have already participated in the free privatization, the second time you can register the apartment in ownership by paying the cadastral value for it. All minors who took part in the privatization of housing together with their parents have the right to privatize an apartment under a social tenancy agreement a second time completely free of charge upon reaching the age of majority.
