Waste passport is a document that contains information about the main physical and chemical properties of waste, and indicates the class of their hazard to the environment. Entrepreneurs and legal entities, in the process of which hazardous waste is generated, are required to draw up and approve a passport for each of them, after which the document must be approved by the Rostekhnadzor service.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw up passports for toxic waste (i.e., capable of provoking serious, protracted or chronic diseases when ingested), fire hazardous and explosive, for waste with a high reactivity, for containing infectious agents (living microorganisms or their toxins that cause diseases in humans or animals), as well as waste with 1-4 hazard class for the natural environment.
Step 2
According to GOST, in the waste hazard passport, include their name and origin, the name of the manufacturing enterprise and its details, the volume, composition of waste and a list of their hazardous properties, the recommended waste processing method, as well as their corrosivity and reactivity, fire hazard and explosion hazard.
Step 3
In addition, in the passport, indicate the necessary precautions when handling waste and restrictions on their transportation.
Step 4
Enter the codes and names of waste in the passports in accordance with the federal classification catalog of waste (FCCO), and their component composition in accordance with the protocol of the results of analyzes that are carried out in a special laboratory with appropriate accreditation.
Step 5
In the certificate of waste of goods that have lost their consumer properties, enter data on the composition of the original product according to technical conditions, etc. Also, here indicate the name of the technological process during which this waste appeared, or the process during which the goods lost their consumer qualities, with a mark on the name of the original product.
Step 6
The passport is signed by the head of the enterprise. In the event that additional or new information appears that increases the completeness and reliability of the data already included here, the document is updated and re-registered.
