If you have never thought about becoming a freelancer, then it is worth trying, but before making a decision and starting to act, we advise you to weigh all the pros and cons.

Most often, freelancing is tempted by young people, students or those who are looking for work, as well as additional income. Freelance is popularized in every possible way, promoted, and now it is at the peak of its development. This is not surprising, because this type of activity has many advantages, but each advantage has its own "but". Let's try to figure out: who is the freelance profession for, how much money can you actually make on it, and how much effort it will cost you.

At first glance, everything seems simple: you register on the site, do what you can, and get money.

And here we are faced with the first "but": by registering on any freelance service, you will have a zero rating. Of course, it will be difficult to start, since most likely no one will give you a good high-paying order, the employer simply will not entrust it to you, a beginner, preferring a freelancer with a higher rating and more work experience. Competition on such services is a separate topic for conversation. You need to start with simple and cheap projects, which means selling your labor at a lower price. This is a necessary, but temporary measure. A little lukewarmness and a decent amount of time and you will make yourself a portfolio and increase your rating, start getting good orders.

And again, "but": while you build yourself a client base and become a confident freelancer, you will spend a lot of time and effort. Freelancing should become a full-fledged job for you, that is, at 9 am you sit down to work, take a break at lunchtime, and work until the evening. This is the only way you can earn as much as you would earn working in any office. That is, you need to understand the most important thing: freelancing is a job! And here everything depends on you, how much you work - how much you earn.

Besides, a lot depends on the area of your activity. If you decide to work in the field of design or writing articles, then you will need to create 2-3 products a day for a normal income. If you create sites, for example, then 1-2 sites per month will be enough. Efforts will be spent about the same amount, the difference is that the copywriter needs to constantly look for customers, every day, until a base of regular customers is developed. While it is enough for a programmer to find 1-2 customers a month.

But you will have the opportunity to choose what kind of work to take on and how much work you can do. In freelancing, everything depends on you. You shouldn't rely on easy money, but there are some goodies too. Therefore, if you are not ready to take freelancing seriously, if you cannot devote enough time to it, if you are afraid of a huge amount of work for little money at the beginning of the journey and if you do not have sufficient competence in at least one of the areas of freelancing, then this is most likely not for you. But if you are ready for all of the above, and most importantly, are ready to work and find a common language with each client, then you can easily control your own earnings and become more financially independent.
