Foreigners staying on the territory of the Russian Federation are required to register at the place of stay. Several years ago, this procedure was greatly simplified. Instead of a mandatory registration procedure, a more liberal - notification procedure for migration registration was introduced.
Instructions
Step 1
Study the current legislation of the Russian Federation before entering the country. Within 3 working days from the moment you arrive in Russia, you must register for migration. The person with whom you live or for whom you work submits all the necessary documents to the Federal Migration Service: an application, photocopies of the passport and migration card. Keep your travel documents for the entire period of your stay on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Step 2
Get free forms of notification about the migration registration of a foreign citizen at the Federal Migration Service. Write an application of the appropriate sample for registration with migration registration. Fill in 2 copies of the application form, be sure to have your civil passport with you. Take with you the detachable part of the notice of registration of you with the migration registration after completion of all procedures. The notification indicates your period of stay in the Russian Federation and your address of residence.
Step 3
Always carry this detachable part with you and provide it to law enforcement officers of the Federal Migration Service during scheduled and unscheduled inspections. Do not exceed the period of stay in the country and live at the address indicated in the notification. The migration registration procedure is free. If you do not want to submit documents directly to the Federal Migration Service, you can register at any post office in the country. The service fee will be 130 rubles.
Step 4
When leaving the country, hand over the tear-off part of the notice to the host party, and make a photocopy of this document for yourself. Within 3 days, the receiving party must notify the Federal Migration Service of your departure and attach the detachable part of the notification you submitted, after which the FMS will officially remove you from the migration register.
