With the help of an electronic signature, it became possible to carry out civil transactions, use government services, and perform any legal manipulations using Internet resources.

What is an electronic signature?

An electronic digital signature (EDS) is encrypted information used to identify an individual or legal entity. EDS provides verification of the integrity of the document, and is also responsible for confidentiality. It is impossible to forge an electronic signature, since it is a complex sequence of characters formed by encoding information using a special program - a cryptographic provider.

Types of EP

- simple signature, created using codes and passwords; is used to identify the author of the document, while it does not make it possible to check for any changes that came into force after signing;

- reinforced unqualified, created using cryptographic means, allows you to track changes made to the document;

- enhanced qualified, registered using state information systems; involves the issuance of a certificate.

How to issue an EDS

It is necessary to prepare a package of documents: an extract from the unified state register of legal entities of the Russian Federation, a copy of an extract from the USRIP, identity documents, a copy of a passport, SNILS.

Obtaining an electronic signature will require the provision of the original package of documents at the EDS issuing center.

To issue an EDS, an application and a collected package of documents are submitted to the management center in their region. Also, the certificate can be issued by contacting directly the website of public services, where there is a section "obtaining a certificate of electronic digital signature". Or make a request for a single EDS portal in the Russian Federation.

Upon completion of registration, a public key is issued - a certificate and a secret key for signing documents. To start using an electronic signature, special software must be installed on a computer that supports the EDS format.

For the issuance of an EDS, you must pay a certain amount, which should be specified at the EDS issuing center, located closer to your place of residence or work.
