Monitoring is the collection of data that will be taken into account in the further development of the company. This process is very important because it can affect the change in the cost or quality of the services provided. Distinguish between monitoring competitors or your own organization. The first is much more important because allows you to keep abreast of the changes that have occurred, increases the competitiveness of the organization.
Necessary
- - several phones;
- - computer.
Instructions
Step 1
First, figure out how you benefit from monitoring. It is not worth collecting data if its results are simply put on the table. Only conduct it if the company is ready for change and there are opportunities for this.
Step 2
Make a list of competitors to be monitored. The larger it is, the more useful all the collected information will be. You shouldn't be limited to one or two graphs. Of course, it is worth analyzing only those organizations that are at the same level of development as you.
Step 3
Create a table where the data will be entered. The columns should contain all the necessary information, date, cost, parameters of the products sold, and more. To identify all changes, it is recommended to conduct monitoring once every 2-3 months. It is necessary to make changes in the work of the organization only after receiving information for several periods. If you find out that one of the competitors is dumping, do not rush to reduce the price too. Perhaps this is a temporary measure that the organization took because of any problems.
Step 4
For monitoring, it is better to use phones that have nothing to do with your organization. If competitors find out about your actions, they will try to give you false information. If you need multiple metrics from each organization, it is best to use different phone numbers. Otherwise it will be very suspicious if one person calls and starts asking a lot of questions. Only a few employees should be aware of the ongoing action in order to prevent information leakage.
Step 5
Select the contractor who will be monitoring. This must be a responsible and pedantic person. Some employees may not approach the assigned case very responsibly and enter old or approximate data into the table.
Step 6
The employee must methodically call all the selected organizations and get a conversation with those people who have the information. The received data must be entered into the table. At the end of monitoring, there should be no empty columns left in it. After all, on the basis of this information, decisions on company reforms will be made.
