If you have purchased a pair of shoes and find that they are not suitable for you at home, you can return the pair to the store. The same should be done with boots or shoes that you have already begun to wear and have identified a defect. Sellers may refuse to take the item back. Keep in mind - consumer protection law is on your side. Demand its execution - even if the return procedure will take a little more time and effort than you expected.
Necessary
- - the passport;
- - statement of return;
- - cash register receipt;
- - warranty card.
Instructions
Step 1
After bringing your shoes or boots home, try them on again. Make sure that the heel does not chafe the heel, the zipper can be closed without problems, the inner seams and the labels glued to the insole do not tear the stockings. If in doubt, you can return your shoes to the store within 14 days.
Step 2
Pack your shoes in a box. Check the completeness - if special storage bags or extra heels were attached to the shoes, they must also be returned. Take the receipt and passport you received upon purchase.
Step 3
In the store, contact the seller. Get ready for the fact that they will argue with you, prove that they will not be able to give the money, they will begin to give a lot of arguments in support of the correctness of their words. Insist on your own - you have the right to return a good quality, unused product within two weeks.
Step 4
Shoes purchased with a discount or on credit are also subject to return. The only condition is that it must not be worn. The insoles and sole must remain intact, the glued labels must not be torn off.
Step 5
If in the process of wearing the purchased shoes a defect is found, you can also return the defective product. The warranty period for your purchase is indicated in the coupon issued to you. Usually it is a month or one and a half. Keep in mind that the countdown starts at the start of the season. The date varies by region. For example, in the northern regions, the winter season starts earlier and lasts longer. Check with your local Consumer Protection Board for the exact dates.
Step 6
To return defective shoes, fill out an application in duplicate. Please include the date of purchase and describe the defect you identified. Give one application to the store administration, and keep the other for yourself.
Step 7
The store can take the goods for expert evaluation. Ask for a receipt stating that you have given the item, and stipulate the terms of the examination. You can also carry out the assessment at your own expense. If the manufacturing defect is confirmed, the store will refund you the money spent on the expert's services.
Step 8
If the store refuses to recognize the product as a defect and return your money, file a claim in court. Consult with the experts of the Committee for the Protection of Consumer Rights - they will explain the prospects of the case and help you to correctly draw up a claim. The wait for the trial can take up to two months. However, if the decision is in your favor, you will not only return the money for the defective shoes, but also receive an additional amount for the forced delay of this payment - 1% of the purchase price.
