A patent is a title of protection that guarantees the protection of the owner's exclusive rights to a design or technical solution. Thus, the patent holder has every right to prohibit unauthorized use by others of his invention. In Ukraine, this document can be obtained from the State Intellectual Property Service.

Instructions

Step 1

Download the application for a patent of Ukraine on the Internet. You can also familiarize yourself with the form of this document on the official website of the State Service for Intellectual Power of Ukraine at the link

Step 2

Complete the patent application form. Indicate information about the applicant: full name or name of the company, location, contact phone number, TIN or EDRPOU code. If the application is submitted by a legal entity, then the data of the employee who is authorized to carry out the patent is noted separately. Specify the details of the company's current account.

Step 3

Provide information on the invention for which the patent is being filed. Tag the inventor or author with his home address, come up with the name of the invention. Indicate the technical result that is obtained when using the invention, the consumer properties of the object, as well as the characteristics that coincide with the existing prototype and differ.

Step 4

Draw up annexes to the application. Prepare a document with a detailed description of the technical solution with pictures, drawings and photographs. The second appendix should describe the prototype and attach its image. If you use the services of patent attorneys, please indicate the details of the intermediary on a separate sheet. Also, a separate application is created if the invention has several co-authors.

Step 5

Submit your patent application to the Patent Office of Ukraine, which will conduct an expert assessment and decide to grant you intellectual property rights to the invention. Typically, this procedure can take from 6 to 18 months. If you were denied a patent, then you have the right to appeal the decision to the Appeal Chamber at Ukrpatent. Your claim will only be accepted if there are compelling reasons to change the original decision.
