It takes effort to be successful at work, but it is impossible to be constantly under pressure. Sometimes a specialist cannot mentally or emotionally tear himself away from the problem being solved - he continues to think and does not rest even in his sleep. To recuperate, you need to be able to completely switch to something else.
Instructions
Step 1
Plan your work and leisure times. There are people who do not plan a vacation, so they cannot be distracted from business. They work at lunchtime, taking documents and files to look at at home. This style of work will not lead to anything good. Even during rush jobs, it is necessary to include in the plan specific periods of time when things are pushed aside.
Step 2
Put away work tools when you are resting. A common mistake is to leave a “too work” environment nearby. When you take a break, turn off your computer, close your notebooks, and put away. Act as if the working day is over, you need to quickly put things in order and go home. It will take a few minutes, but nothing will distract your thoughts.
Step 3
Direct your energy to physical labor. If you feel strong mental or emotional arousal, do not try to passively rest - nothing will work, thoughts will return to the postponed task. Changing activities will help remove the energy charge. Anything from washing the dishes to going shopping for groceries will do. Find a job that is very different from your current job. If you are programming, switch to non-computer activities.
Step 4
Do some light exercise. Stand in an empty seat, bend forward, relax your shoulders and swing your arms from side to side. If your work tool is a pen, shake your hands; if you are sitting at a computer, walk around.
Step 5
Do something meaningful during your vacation. If you flip aimlessly through a magazine, thoughts may return to unfinished work. If you write out phrases from the magazine that increase motivation or level of knowledge, the situation will change dramatically.
Step 6
Make a sign: on one side write "I am working", on the other - "I am resting." This is how the shops place the messages "Open / Accounting" on the doors. When you pause to rest and catch yourself thinking about work, look at the right words.
