Such an employee must have an appropriate understanding of the compatibility of various types of equipment., as well as manufacturers in relation to each other. He must know the basics of electronic equipment and be able to identify malfunctions that occur in any office equipment (printer, copier, shredder) and carry out their simple repair. The system administrator must determine when the hardware is causing the problem and when the software is causing the problem, and the worker must know the basics of information security. In this case, it is necessary to create protection of information that is located on computers and existing servers of the company's local network from unauthorized use, deliberate damage and distortion. You also need to be able to carry out anti-virus protection of the local network and specific computers from various virus attacks, malicious programs. In addition to all the listed professional skills and knowledge, the system administrator must have communication skills, patience, non-conflict, and know the basics of psychology. All this will be useful to him when talking with the users of the organization, since this specialist is a connecting person between computing equipment and the people who work on it. In turn, the manufacturers of various software products are, most often, outside Russia, so the system administrator needs knowledge English so that he can read technical documentation or other instructions without a dictionary.
