Step 1

Leave at your own expense can only be issued for a good reason, but Article 128 does not clearly explain which reason should be considered a good reason, and therefore this is given to the employer for consideration. All working employees have the right to take time off at their own expense no more than 14 days in the current year. The exceptions are participants in the Second World War, who can get 35 days at their own expense and disabled people - 60 days. The employer does not have the right to refuse to grant leave at the birth of a child, in the event of the death of a close relative and in the event of marriage registration. In these situations, you can get a guaranteed day off at your own expense for up to 5 days.

Step 2

The law also provides for guaranteed unpaid leave when passing entrance exams to educational institutions - up to 15 days (Article 173 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). Students of preparatory courses of educational institutions, employees studying at accredited universities on a full-time basis, to defend a thesis, for state exams - up to 15 days. Heroes of socialist labor - 21 days, members of the election commission and their authorized representatives - from the day the elections start until their end, participants in hostilities in the zones of settlement of military conflicts - 35 days, the wives of military personnel for the entire period of their husband's vacation. In all other cases, the employer has the right to refuse to grant leave due to industrial necessity.

To take time off, write a statement to the CEO 14 days before you receive the weekend you want. If the leave must be issued urgently, due to valid unforeseen circumstances, then the employer can be warned the day before. The employer's resolution must be on the application.

Step 4

On the basis of the submitted application, the employer issues an order of the unified form T-6. Information about this leave is entered in the T-2 form. Vacation without pay exceeding 14 calendar days is not included in the length of service for registration of the next vacation and for early registration of a pension.
