The need to get an extra day off makes you think about the correct design of it at work. And, as a rule, if an employee has the opportunity to use time off as compensation for work on weekends and holidays, he first of all wants to use it. Without understanding the intricacies of the mechanisms for granting leave and without bothering to study the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, he may incorrectly fill out an application. And, as a result, you don't get the day you need.
First, consider the wording of your statement. The fact is that the concept of "day off" simply does not exist in the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. It would be correct to name it - an additional day off with the obligatory indication of the time when the processing was carried out. That is, if you had the fact of working overtime, you may be given time off at your request and with the consent of the management. In this case, you will be paid for the full working day as worked.

To use time off, write "extra day off for overtime hours worked" and be sure to include the date of processing. To receive unpaid leave "leave at your own expense" and explain on the account of which leave it can be provided to you. For example, annual paid leave. In any case, indicate the exact date of the day that you want to free up for yourself.
Sign the application, date it. Take the prepared document to the head for signature. Do not forget to register it with the secretary as an incoming document.
