Instructions
Step 1
Determine if you are eligible for Romanian citizenship. According to existing laws, direct descendants (up to 3 tribes) of former Romanian citizens who were born or lived from 1918 to 1940 on the territory of Bessarabia have such an opportunity. Step 2
The main document in this case is the birth certificate of the father, mother, grandfather or grandmother who lived in the territories of Romania and Moldavia annexed to the USSR in 1940. Knowledge of the Romanian language is not a prerequisite.

Step 4
Wait for a response from the Romanian Ministry of Justice. After a certain time, it will make a decision on the restoration of Romanian citizenship for you, after which you will be summoned within a month to take the oath. Then you can receive Romanian documents.
