It is necessary

  • - 2 personal photos 35x45mm in size;
  • - application for the replacement of the passport;
  • - receipt of payment of the state duty;
  • - documents confirming registration at the place of residence;
  • - passport to be replaced;
  • - other documents and their copies required in each specific case.

Instructions

Step 1

The most common reason for changing a passport is when a citizen of the Russian Federation reaches the age of 20 or 45. In this case, you must provide an old passport, two photographs, a receipt for payment of the state fee, an application and documents, according to which the corresponding marks will be made in the new passport. These include marriage or divorce certificates, birth certificates of children who have not reached the age of fourteen at the time of passport replacement, military ID and registration documents at the place of residence. Copies must be attached to the listed documents. The passport office will verify their authenticity, assure them, and then take them away, giving the originals of the documents to the owner.

Step 2

A new passport is issued also when personal data changes. These include the name, patronymic and surname, as well as information about the place or date of birth. Depending on the situation, in addition to the documents listed above, it is necessary to provide a birth certificate (primary or repeated), a certificate of name change. If the need for a new passport has arisen in connection with the change of surname after marriage or divorce, it is necessary to provide the appropriate certificates.

Step 3

You can also get a new passport if you find erroneous entries or any inaccuracies in the old document. To do this, you must return your old passport, attach to it a receipt or check for payment of the state duty, an application and documents for affixing mandatory marks in the new identity card (marriage, divorce, childbirth certificates, military ID).

Step 4

Persons who have changed their gender or appearance are also eligible for a new passport. To do this, you need to collect a package of documents consisting of an old passport, personal photographs, a paid receipt, birth certificates and change of name (if any). Persons who are married or who have divorced it will also have to attach the appropriate certificates. Children under the age of 14 must also present their birth certificates.

Step 5

If the old passport is for some reason unsuitable for further use, you should replace it with a new document. This requires the same documents as when changing a passport at the age of 20 and 45.

Step 6

The entire package of documents must be taken to the passport office at the place of residence or stay. In the first case, a new passport will be ready within ten days, in the second - within two months.
