The effective functioning of any organization, government or commercial, depends on how well structured its activities. To do this, it is necessary to draw up the organizational structure of the enterprise: to determine the levels of management and functional blocks, ways of interaction between them, and, in addition, to solve the issues of the personnel composition. The organizational structure establishes the optimal number and composition of the required units and the subordination of posts.
Instructions
Step 1
When drawing up the optimal organizational structure, you must take into account the goals that are set for your company, the tasks that it will solve, and take into account external factors that influence its activities. This will ensure effective interaction with the external environment. Effective structuring will allow you to optimize staff efforts, meet the requirements and needs of your product consumers, and achieve your goals. At the initial stage, you will need to analyze the activities of the company.
Step 2
Divide all work and technological processes that are necessary for the normal functioning of the enterprise into separate blocks. Highlight those departments that are traditional: accounting, personnel department, office, economic and legal department. Separate those divisions that work in a closed technological cycle into separate units in the structure in accordance with the nature of the production tasks that they will perform.
Step 3
Consider the existence of horizontal links between departments. Determine which of them will interact with each other and consider the nature of this interaction. If you are a manufacturer of goods or other products, then the traditional type of interaction will be directly production - sales or marketing departments - financial accounting.
Step 4
Determine the staffing of each department and establish vertical links between positions, hierarchical subordination. This is necessary for the implementation of the management process and coordination of the activities of each department.
Step 5
Establish vertical links, with the help of which the management will coordinate and manage the production processes, the activities of the entire enterprise. Reflect the chain of command through which decisions will be communicated to the immediate performers from the top down.
Step 6
Appoint department heads, assign each of them the terms of reference and area of responsibility. It should be borne in mind that one and the same issue should be decided by one department, and not several. Only the head of the department should carry out managerial functions. The solution of any issues should be entrusted to the department, which, by virtue of its functionality and responsibility, will cope with them better than others.
