Instructions
Step 1
Pay the state fee in the prescribed amount. In the name of the payment, indicate: "State duty for registration of a residence permit." Find out the bank details in the territorial subdivision of the FMS of Russia.
Step 2
Contact the authorities of the Federal Migration Service of Russia at your place of residence within the prescribed period. You must have with you: a document proving your identity and citizenship, a receipt for payment of the state duty and a valid residence permit you have with all the necessary registration and re-registration marks at the place of residence.
The application period can be extended for a valid reason (due to illness, while on a business trip, etc.). This reason must be documented.
Step 3
Write an application for the extension of the validity of the residence permit according to the established model. It is possible to extend the period of validity of a residence permit for a foreign citizen until the expiration of the document proving his identity, but for no more than 5 years. For stateless persons, the residence permit is extended for 5 years. The number of extensions of the validity of the residence permit is not limited by law.
Step 4
Wait until all necessary checks are completed. The data about you will be checked according to the records in law enforcement agencies, security agencies, the bailiff service, in the social security and health authorities, in the tax authorities, etc. the validity period of the residence permit. Otherwise, you will be refused.
Step 5
Get notified of your decision. In case of refusal, you will receive written notification with the reasons for refusal. This refusal can be appealed by you both in pre-trial and in court.
In case of a decision to extend your residence permit, a corresponding mark will be made on pages 9-12 of the form, certified by the signature of the head of the territorial body of the FMS of Russia and the seal.
