After graduating from a higher education institution, we devote the next few decades of our life to work and career. This is an almost continuous process, even if we change jobs from time to time. Sometimes in our work there are quite long breaks associated with temporary disability or maternity leave, childcare. More often, of course, this applies to women. If you have to resume work after a long break, you must prepare for it.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have been absent for a long enough time, and the company has taken on your place another person who temporarily replaces you, then it does not hurt to remind the director and the accounting department in advance that you are going to take your job again. Write in advance a statement asking you to consider you retired from vacation on a certain date and take it to your company.
Step 2
Ask for a face-to-face meeting with your line manager and also notify him of your exit. This will give him the opportunity to take things from the person who replaced you, in a working, and not in an emergency. In addition, he can bring you up to date, and you will be able to slowly prepare and familiarize yourself with the new tasks that the team began to solve during your absence with the remaining time before going to work.
Step 3
Chat with your team members - have lunch with them or invite them for a coffee break. Ask them about the changes that occurred during your absence, learn about new appointments. Find out from your colleagues what has changed in the company rules, what service regulations have been changed.
Step 4
Find out in advance about the news and events that have occurred in your field of activity. Explore technical literature, see changes in federal and regional legislation.
Step 5
Such a serious approach will help you to immediately join the work of the team and from the first day after the break, become its full member again.
