Step 1
Always stay at the petrol station and watch the approaching cars. If there are few cars at the gas station, service each of them, as this is your job responsibility. You can choose not to do this only in one case: if the driver has expressed a desire to refuel his car himself. Try to be friendly and polite. Often, regular customers remember certain refuellers and prefer to be served by them. Of course, the tip in this case is stable.
Step 2
Perform additional services for clients. One of the most common is to quickly clean your windshield, headlights and license plates. Keep a set of necessary tools at hand: a special sponge, a container of water, glass rinse aid. In order not to waste your work, be sure to ask the client if he needs your services. As a rule, the price of such work is not negotiated, and the visitor gives you any amount at his discretion. However, you should have an answer to the question of how much your service will cost.
Step 3
In rainy or cold weather, ask the customer not to get out of the car at all. Many car owners won't mind if you go to the cashier yourself and then bring them the check and change. As a rule, in this case, you can count on a tip.
Step 4
If there are very few clients, do extra work. You can clear snow, sweep the area, unload incoming goods, and do other household chores. Discuss the payment of such labor with the filling station management in advance.
Step 5
Learn additional skills in car maintenance: changing and adding oil, checking tire pressure. If your gas station is quite large and located on a busy highway, such services may be quite in demand.
