Probably every second citizen of the Russian Federation dreams of becoming a deputy of the State Duma, but only 450 people hold these positions every five years. According to the fifth chapter of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, a citizen of the Russian Federation who has reached the age of 21 and has the right to participate in elections can be elected a Deputy of the State Duma. 80% of Russian citizens fit this criterion, but only a select few become deputies.

Step 1
Join the ranks of one of the political parties. It is not at all difficult to do this, come to the regional office of your chosen party and write a statement, a sample of which you will receive at the office. Within 2 months you will receive a party card and officially become a member of the chosen party. I recommend that you take the choice of the party seriously and give great sympathy to the factions represented in the State Duma (United Russia, Fair Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party).
Step 2
If you do not support any of the existing parties in the "political arena", then you can go to the elections as a self-nominated candidate. To do this, you need to notify the regional Election Commission of your desire and enlist the support of 0.5% of voters from the total number of voters in your constituency. There is also a small condition: at least 500 signatures, if less than one hundred thousand voters live in the district. For the 2016 State Duma elections, political strategists predict a record number of self-nominated candidates, since 225 deputies will be elected in single-member constituencies.
Step 3
To get on a regional party list, you need to have a certain amount of authority among voters and party members. Try to personally strengthen the authority of the party and increase your personal authority through well-established work with voters. The easiest way to get on the party list is if you are a famous athlete, artist, businessman. Do not forget that the more supporters your party has and the higher your authority among voters, the higher your chances of becoming a deputy.
Step 4
If you are a self-nominated candidate, then as often as possible hold open conversations with voters and various press conferences. Take part in charity events, pickets. So to speak, turn the attention of the public on yourself. But in this matter, the main thing is not to overdo it. Otherwise, you will be perceived as a "political clown". Create a strategy for the election race, if you are a self-nominated candidate, then hire a political consultant. If you represent a party, then you don't have to hire anyone. The party employs political strategists and image makers. If your constituency is small, then talk to respected people in the constituency.
