The calculation of the volume of work performed must be carried out according to the completed structural elements and the type of work. Be sure to follow the counting sequence in order to use the result in determining the results of subsequent counts. There is a certain sequence due to this specificity.

According to the aforementioned specifics, the openings in the outer walls - doors, windows, gates, are first calculated, then the openings in the interior of the building - doors, transoms, gates. Then the foundation, the excavation work performed, the work on the construction of the frame, walls, partitions, floors, ceilings, coverings and roofs are already considered. In conclusion, staircases, porches, exterior and interior decoration works, and other construction and repair work are marked.

When determining the building volume of a building, you should take into account that it does not include the volume of driveways, porticos, open and covered balconies, but includes the volumes of loggias, niches, bay windows, verandas and skylights. The attic room, intended for technical purposes, is also not taken into account in the total volume of the building, but the attic rooms must be taken into account.

To calculate the volume of construction work, use the project data taking into account the classification of soils, the steepness of the slopes and the depth of the foundation base, according to SNiP IV – 2–82, SNiP III, vol. 9, section. B, ch. 1. The depth of the pit or trench dug for the manufacture of the foundation of the walls is taken according to the design marks from the bottom to the mark that existed at the beginning of the excavation work. The use of different units of measurement complicates the calculation - in the first case, units of construction are used, and wholesale prices are usually determined for 1 sq. m of area or 1 cubic meter. m of concrete.
