Every head of a newly opened online store has to deal with the problem of organizing the delivery of goods to customers. There are three main ways to do this. And each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. Let's consider each of them.
Instructions
Step 1
You can trust an outsourcing company, which will take care of the entire delivery of goods. Couriers themselves will knock a check from the buyer, after which the money will go to the logistics company to the accounts, and from there to the online store. The commission is from 1.5 to 3% of the value of the goods.
Step 2
The advantage of this delivery method is that you do not need to fiddle with accounting, as well as with in-house staff. Outsourcing can completely remove all shipping problems from you, allowing you to do business exclusively.
Step 3
But there is also a drawback: during a heavy workload of orders, an outsourcing company may not be able to cope with the responsibilities. As a result, it may happen that the client refuses the order without waiting for it.
Step 4
Own courier service. A whole staff of their couriers is good. Only your own couriers can be forced to strictly fulfill their duties. In the case of an outsourcing company, this cannot be done, since the employees of such companies have their own bosses.
Step 5
The advantages of this method of organizing delivery include constant monitoring and improvement of the quality of service. Your operator can call the client at any time and ask how the courier coped with his task.
Step 6
But the main problem with its delivery service is the high turnover of staff. It is quite difficult to find a conscientious and honest courier who, at the same time, would wind around the city in the cold for half a day or get stuck in traffic jams in crowded transport. Such prospects frighten off many.
Step 7
Using the services of "Russian Post" is the third delivery method. This enterprise is a large logistics company with the most developed network of branches throughout Russia. It can be used to deliver goods by cash on delivery to any part of the country. At the same time, you will not need to hire couriers. Almost Russia has an analogue of DHL. This is the service "EMS Russian Post". This courier company delivers goods directly to the hands of the buyer, using the network of branches of the parent company. EMS Russian Post works much faster, but its services are also more expensive.
Step 8
As already mentioned, Russian Post has a very well-developed branch infrastructure. There are 86 branches and more than 40,000 post offices on the territory of the Russian Federation. The numbers are impressive.
Step 9
However, queues at post offices have long ceased to be something unusual. In addition, the post office has its own list of goods that are prohibited from shipment. Also, when sending the goods by cash on delivery, the buyer may simply not come for the goods. In this case, the sender will bear the costs of shipping the goods to the buyer, as well as their (goods) return shipping.
