The coming 2014 is not a leap year, which means that it will last exactly 365 days. Knowing in advance what holidays and weekends you can count on, it is easier for a person working on a standard five-day week to plan their vacation time and other events.

The longest days off in 2014 were the New Year and Christmas holidays. And the first working day was January 9th.

Due to the fact that the 23rd of February falls on a Sunday, this weekend is postponed to the 3rd of November, lengthening the autumn weekend.
The next weekend comes in May. At the beginning of the month there are already two official holidays - the Spring Festival and the Victory Day. In summer it will be possible to relax on the Day of Russia, and the last "red" day of the calendar this year will be November 4 - called the Day of National Unity.
Due to the postponement of holidays, small vacations for working citizens are obtained in the following periods: January 1 - January 8; March 8 - March 10; May 1 - May 4; May 9 - May 11; June 12-June 15; November 1 - November 4.
