With the beginning of the new year, the majority of working people have a question about how many days off and holidays await them in the coming year. Which holidays are postponed, and which ones are combined with Saturday or Sunday.
How many days will you have to work this year
The coming 2014 is not a leap year, which means that it will last exactly 365 days. Knowing in advance what holidays and weekends you can count on, it is easier for a person working on a standard five-day week to plan their vacation time and other events.
It is generally estimated that this year, with a standard work week, this is 247 working days. It's easy to guess that there are 118 days left for the weekend. Thus, you will have to work 2, 1 times more than enjoy non-working days.
For people working on a schedule that includes a six-day work week, the number of working days increases to 299, while the number of idle days decreases to 66. However, one should not forget that, regardless of whether a person works on a five-day or six-day basis, the total duration working time is 40 hours per week.
What the weekend is made of
If we consider a standard five-day work week, the total number of days off is 118. Of these, 14 days fall on official holidays, and the remaining 108 - on Saturdays and Sundays.
It is not the first year that such a practice has been used when holidays are postponed in such a way as to combine them with weekends. As a result, rest days are used more rationally and are not scattered in the middle of the work week.
The longest days off in 2014 were the New Year and Christmas holidays. And the first working day was January 9th.
On January 4 and 5, which are Saturday and Sunday, the entire working population will be able to fully take a walk in June, enjoying the warm sun.
The following official holidays fell on the day dedicated to the Defenders of the Fatherland and International Women's Day.
Due to the fact that the 23rd of February falls on a Sunday, this weekend is postponed to the 3rd of November, lengthening the autumn weekend.
The next weekend comes in May. At the beginning of the month there are already two official holidays - the Spring Festival and the Victory Day. In summer it will be possible to relax on the Day of Russia, and the last "red" day of the calendar this year will be November 4 - called the Day of National Unity.
Due to the postponement of holidays, small vacations for working citizens are obtained in the following periods: January 1 - January 8; March 8 - March 10; May 1 - May 4; May 9 - May 11; June 12-June 15; November 1 - November 4. If you look, it turns out that this year there are a lot of small periods in which you can escape from work and enjoy rest and communication with loved ones.
