Instructions
Step 1
Select the type of passport that you want to receive: the old model valid for 5 years or the new generation, issued for 10 years. The latter is more secure against counterfeiting and may contain electronic media, including the biometric data of its owner.
Step 2
Fill out an application for the issuance of a passport by receiving its form from the migration service of your region or by downloading it from the website of the Federal Migration Service of Russia www.fms.gov.ru. Indicate the last name, first name, patronymic, including those that were previously available in case of their change, gender, date and place of birth, place of residence, passport data. Fill in the details of your work activity for the last 10 years and certify them at the main place of work.
Step 3
Pay special attention to items that disclose information that may hinder your travel abroad: conscription, prosecution and conviction, evasion of alimony payments, taxes, loan obligations, etc.
Step 4
When filling out an application for the issuance of a passport by hand, use a pen with blue or black ink, write in block letters and do not make mistakes, corrections and blots. The application, completed in electronic form, print in 2 copies on one sheet with a turnover. Please note that the Federal Migration Service will not accept a 2-sheet form.
Step 5
Pay the state fee for issuing a passport. For an old-style document, its size is 1000 rubles, and for a new one - 2500 rubles. Registration of a passport for minors under the age of 14 will cost 300 and 1200 rubles, respectively.
Step 6
Contact the office of the migration service with the following documents:
- application for the issuance of a passport in 2 copies;
- passport of a citizen of Russia, for children - birth certificate;
- receipt of payment of state duty;
- photo: for an old passport - 3 pieces, for a new one - 2;
- military ID or certificate from the military registration and enlistment office;
- a previously issued foreign passport of a new sample, if its validity has not expired;
- work book - for non-working people.
Step 7
The unified portal of public services provides an opportunity to send an application for registration of a passport and the necessary documents in electronic form. Register on the website www.gosuslugi.ru, prepare documents, a file with a photo for a passport, enter the data into the system that will send an application to the migration service.
Step 8
The term for producing a passport is 1 month at the place of residence and 4 months at the place of stay. The countdown starts from the date of submission of correctly executed documents. In exceptional cases (serious illness or death of a close relative or spouse, the need for emergency treatment, etc.), the passport is issued within 3 working days. But for this you will need to present supporting documents.
