To keep your work productive, you should take short breaks throughout the day. Rest significantly increases productivity, so a person who takes a smoke break from time to time or gets distracted from work to warm up a little, as a result, manages to do much more than an employee who does not stop working hard throughout the day.

You should not limit your rest time to just one lunch break, because short breaks during the working day are also necessary. According to the observations of psychologists, the work-rest schedule may differ for different employees, so you should choose the option that suits you.

It is not recommended to pause too often, as in this case the planning of working hours will be very irrational. Moreover, constant breaks are distracting, do not allow you to properly concentrate on work. That is why experts recommend resting no earlier than 50 minutes of work.

The best option, according to some psychologists, is to rest for 5 minutes at the end of each hour and for 10 minutes every 4 hours. On the one hand, the employee manages to concentrate on work, and on the other hand, a short pause becomes quite enough to distract himself a little, relieve tension, and recuperate. After a five minute break, it is much easier to concentrate on work again.

A more difficult option is to rest for 5-7 minutes every hour and a half. You can also prefer another regime - a long pause in the middle of the working day, as well as rest for 10 minutes two hours before and two hours after it.

Finally, there is another option. If you find it difficult to return to work on a project after a rest break, try breaking up your work into core, preferably independent blocks. After completing one block, rest for 3-5 minutes and proceed to the next. For example, you can spend half an hour talking with clients, 40 minutes checking documentation, etc., taking short pauses between these sessions. This will help you take your mind off the previous task and rebuild the strength to complete the new one.

Finally, remember to rest properly. Do a short office workout, go outside and get some fresh air, have a cup of tea, listen to music, etc. Step away from the computer and rest your eyes. Don't think about work, bosses and clients, just rest.
