Instructions

Step 1

After registering a marriage, you must, within 30 days, contact the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation or the passport office of the housing office, if the staff has an employee authorized to issue a passport of the Russian Federation. You will be replaced with a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and will enter new data in the main identity document.

Step 2

To replace a passport after registering a marriage, you will need to fill out an application form in the presence of an authorized employee of the Federal Migration Service or a passport office, present an old identity document, 4 photos of 3, 5x4, 5 cm in size, a receipt for payment of a state fee in the amount of 200 rubles, a registration certificate marriage and its photocopy.

Step 3

Within 10 days from the date of application, your passport will be replaced and a new document with changed data will be issued.

Step 4

If you have changed your place of residence or are applying for a change of document not at the place of permanent registration, then the period for replacing your passport can be significantly delayed. The FMS will check all your data by making a request for your old place of residence, and only after that you will be able to issue a new passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. The maximum time for obtaining a passport is two months from the date of application.

Step 5

If for some reason you need to obtain a document urgently, then you may be given a temporary certificate of the unified form No. 2-P, which will prove your identity during the issuance of a permanent passport of the Russian Federation.

Step 6

If, within 30 days from the date of your last name change, you do not apply to the Federal Migration Service or the Housing Office to replace your passport, then you may be subject to an administrative fine in the amount of 500 to 2,500 thousand rubles. Therefore, do not delay contacting the indicated authorities and change your identity document in a timely manner.
