Currently, citizens own housing, land, cars, securities and much more. The property that belonged to a citizen, after his death, becomes an inheritance, the acceptance of which sometimes turns into a problem.

Instructions

Step 1

If you are an heir by law or by will, then first find out if the testator has outstanding debts, since the testator's debts within the inherited property are transferred to the heirs who have accepted the inheritance. If the amount of the debt is greater than or equal to the value of the inherited property, then there is no sense in accepting the inheritance. In this case, write a statement to the notary stating that you are giving up the inheritance.

Step 2

If you intend to formalize the entry into inheritance, then write an application for the issuance of a certificate of the right to inheritance and apply with the specified application to a notary. Applications for refusal or acceptance of inheritance are submitted to a notary at the place of opening of the inheritance. If the inheritance is in another region, and you send the application by mail, then verify your signature with a notary.

Step 3

To receive a bank deposit that belonged to the testator, contact the bank and submit a notarial certificate of inheritance. To register the ownership of the inherited real estate, contact the Federal Registration Service with a statement to which you attach a notarial certificate of inheritance, a receipt for payment of state duty and documents for real estate: technical and cadastral passports, certificates of the testator of ownership.

Step 4

If you did not manage to contact a notary within six months after the opening of the inheritance, then restore the period for accepting the inheritance. Write to the court a statement in which you indicate for what good reason you missed the deadline (illness, business trip, military service), or that you did not know about the opening of the inheritance, but went to court before the expiration of six months from the day when you became aware of the opening of the inheritance.
