It is the employer's responsibility to enter in the workbook of records about all stages of the employee's career in the organization. The dismissal record is not particularly difficult, but there are a number of requirements of the law and canons of personnel records management, which it must comply with.

Step 1

Before making a record of dismissal in the employee's work book, you need to issue an order for his dismissal.

If he leaves of his own free will, do not rush with the order until you see a statement, preferably signed by the head of the organization (or until you sign it, if the head is you). Otherwise, there is a risk that the employee "forgets" to write it, and then will file a lawsuit against you with a claim for compensation for forced absence and will have every reason to decide in his favor.

Step 2

If you have an application, prepare and sign (or give to the head for signature) an order, then enter its data in the books of accounting of personnel documents and orders of management that are maintained in the organization.

Or at least record the number of the order and the date of its release. This information must be entered in the work book.

Step 3

Now take the employee's work book. After the most recent entry in the section with information about the work, put in the first column its serial number - strictly following the one that has the previous entry.

Put the date on the same line in the sections intended for it: day, month, year. The day and month are written in two digits, if necessary, the first is zero. Year - in four digits. For example: "01.10.2011". Each value (day, month, year) is written exactly in the column intended for it. Further, in the same line in the next column, write: "The employment contract has been terminated …". Here you indicate who is the initiator of the termination of the contract and refer to the paragraph and number of the article of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, which provide for the reason for the dismissal.

Step 4

In the last column, enter the data of the order of dismissal: the number and date of publication; certify the finished entry with the signature indicating the position of the person who made the entry and with the seal of your organization.
