It is worth saying that according to article 80 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, not every employee is obliged to work for 2 weeks. Those who have not yet passed the probationary period, work on a fixed-term employment contract or seasonally, can leave immediately and forever, without explanation. Employees who have a good reason can do the same: a serious illness, retirement or enrollment in an educational institution, caring for a sick relative, etc. Of course, in some cases, there may be disagreements with the employer about the importance of certain reasons. But you must insist on your own, if you want the dismissal to happen without working off.

Other options for dismissal without working off

If you do not belong to the listed categories of employees and you do not have a valid reason for dismissal, you can try to negotiate with your superiors. If it meets you halfway, then you can leave work the same day without two weeks of working off. To prevent the management from opposing, you can do the following:

  1. Find another candidate in his place, or better even several (in case he doesn't like the chosen person).
  2. Have a heart-to-heart talk with your superiors. Try to explain your situation to him. Perhaps, based on the results of the conversation, you will be offered new, more favorable working conditions, and you will not want to quit.

Another option to leave without working two weeks is to get sick leave. Since, according to the law, it is included in the work experience and is paid, you can settle at home by sending a letter of resignation by mail (it is advisable to do this in a few days). What will you do during these 14 days is your problem.
