Registration for Russian citizens
If you are a citizen of Russia, the procedure for obtaining registration in Moscow will be simplified as much as possible for you. It is imperative to present an identity document. For persons permanently living in Russia, this is a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, for persons living abroad - a foreign passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, for children under 14 years of age - a birth certificate.
Registration for foreign citizens
Foreign citizens, unless they are residents of the countries of the Customs Union (Belarus and Kazakhstan), provide an internal passport for registration in Moscow, as well as the original and a copy of the migration card, which must be received within three days from the moment of arrival in Moscow. For citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan, the registration procedure has been simplified. Here you will also need an internal passport and a copy of the employment contract with the employer.
Registration of citizens of Ukraine
If a citizen of Ukraine arrived in Moscow for a period of less than 90 days, his registration may not be carried out, however, if you plan to stay in the capital longer, you must complete the relevant documents within 3 days after arrival. To register at the place of residence, you need an identity document and a migration card (see above).
Homeowner documents
For the one who will register you on their living space, a package of documents is also required. First, he must present a document certifying his ownership of the property. If the living space is issued simultaneously for several people, the presence and consent of each of them is mandatory. Next, the owner provides his passport and writes a statement in the established form.
Please note that the presence of documents from the homeowner and his consent to your registration are necessary conditions for obtaining it. Therefore, you will not be able to register without the knowledge of the owner of the apartment.

A few words about the registration application. In addition to an identity document, for registration you will need to write an application in a special form (the form can be obtained directly during the paperwork or downloaded from the FMS website). Documents are submitted to the passport office, EIRTs or MFC at the location of the dwelling. Only citizens of the Russian Federation can register at the place of stay.
