Usually, the approximate time for making a passport is said when accepting documents. True, these terms are maximum and in the "hot" season can be one month. If the time for making a passport is of key importance, you can apply for an expedited receipt of a passport or simply regularly monitor its readiness.
Instructions
Step 1
To do this, you need to call directly to the department of the FMS to which you submitted your documents. However, due to the large number of people who wish, operators often cannot be reached, so it is easier and more efficient to use the Internet.
Step 2
Today the official website of the FMS allows anyone to get access to the automated service for checking the readiness of documents. To do this, register on the website and, opening the automated system, enter the data of your civil passport or child's birth certificate in the lines that appear, this will allow you to find out if the passport is ready. If the system offers to repeat the operation later, then the documents are still pending.
Step 3
Similarly, you can check the validity period of an existing passport, just for information, enter the details of a valid passport.
Step 4
It is important to remember that the system is not updated as regularly as we would like, so it makes no sense to check it more often than once a week.
Step 5
And if your passport is not listed in the database, do not worry, most likely, it is simply not included in the general database yet or is being checked in the software package. The new system, although it does not work as fast as we would like, is absolutely safe and does not provide any additional information about the passport holder. So far, the automated system is an experimental project, therefore, in order to obtain information promptly, it is still better to communicate with the FMS officers by phone.
